39 weeks

39 Weeks. 1 week until my due date. How crazy is that! We went to the doctors yesterday. I am still the same as the last 2 weeks-still 1 cm dilated, still thin, and the baby’s head is still very low. So I am still waiting for contractions. The doctor moved some stuff around to try to get my body motivated-that was such a pleasant experience! I gained no weight this week. The doctor estimated the baby is about 7 lbs now. I woke up Thursday morning and decided I was sick of being pregnant. I am done. I am ready for the baby to come now. I am not sleeping well, I can’t breathe, and my feet are always swollen. I am just ready!

On Tuesday and Wednesday I was able to train the person who is taking my place during my leave. I am glad I had a chance to do this. I have a couple of difficult kids in my class that have little quirks that you just have to experience to understand. Now she is ready and is basically waiting for a phone call saying I am having the baby.

Sheetrock and mudding are done. The painter starts on Monday. I made Dana put my old glider in the attic so I can use my new one. I love it.

My next doctor appointment is on Friday, my actual due date. If my body hasn’t made some sort of progress by then, the doctor said we might have to look into scheduling something. He does not like to let anyone go 1 week past their due date.

Anyways, that’s it for now. Just waiting for my body to be ready. The waiting game has started…..

38 weeks

38 weeks, 1 day. I can’t believe I have only 2 weeks to go. It seemed like it took forever to reach the last month-now time is flying by. Did the 10 months actually happen? It is unreal to me that I could have this baby any day now. Dana and I went to the doctors yesterday. I am the same as last week-still 1 cm dilated, still thin, and the baby’s head is still very low. Just have to wait for those contractions. People keep giving me suggestions on how to make the baby come faster-I keep telling them I that I am not ready and need at least 1 more week. For some reason a snowmobile ride has come up multiple times. The doctor estimated Emma was about 6.3 lbs right now. Emma’s bag is all packed-and mine is except for the stuff I use on a day-top-day basis.

The sheetrock is all done. He put the last coat of mud on yesterday and just has to do the knockdown next. Then we have to clean, let to knockdown dry for 2 days, and paint. Then we can have Rene come in and do the flooring and trim in Makyla’s room. I really wanted to go with a lavender color for Makyla’s room. But when I showed everyone the bedding set I already purchased they said it would be too overwhelming. So now I am going with a pastel yellow color called Honey Pot. I really wanted purple, but I guess I will have to wait and do that in Emma’s room.

Someone has been officially hired for my position when I am out on leave. She will be coming in on Monday and Tuesday to shadow me in the classroom. I am glad-one less thing for me to worry about. By the time I am done class at 12:30 I am exhausted. I can no longer sit on the floor with the kids-it just hurts too much. I am retaining lots of water. My feet are swollen-I have cankles!

Today we are heading to Littleton to pick out the rest of the stuff for the house and of course heading to Walmart. Tomorrow will be a day to do stuff around the house. I can’t wait till the basement is finished. I can’t even use my new glider because I have no where to put the old one!

Anyways I think that is it for now. My next appointment is on Thursday. Hopefully my body will make some progress by then.

37 weeks

37 weeks

37 weeks, 2 days. I can’t believe the end is in sight. In a way I want to be done now, I have just been so tired and uncomfortable. Its hard to work with preschoolers when you are this pregnant. In another way, I just don’t feel that we are ready yet. The sheetrock is almost done, but there are still things to do. My house is a disaster. I went to the doctors on Friday. I gained 4 lbs in 2 weeks, but I have been retaining a lot of water, with my feet and hands swelling, so I am not worried about it. My belly measured 35 inches, so I don’t know where the 4 lbs went. I am dilated 1 cm (which you can be for months). The baby is very low and I am pretty thin. So I just have to wait for the contractions to help me dilate more. I had quite a few contractions on Saturday. They were randomly spaced out, so I am assuming they were Braxton hicks ones. Dana finished painting Emma’s bureau, so now her clothes are all put away. I made him finish it Saturday because I was feeling so crappy that I didn’t know if it was my body’s way of telling me to that I better be ready. But I have had no contractions today. My next doctors appointment is on Friday.

We had been looking for a new glider and we found one. We got a used Newport Glider for a really great price. My mom shampooed the cushions and it looks great. Now if I just had a place to put my old glider so I can start using my new one.

Dana’s next project is to work on the cradle.

Tomorrow is a holiday-yeppee. I am going to get my hair colored so I look beautiful when the baby comes. Hopefully I will be getting the car seat base installed in the truck. And a few other errands.

I am also trying to get advice from mom’s about what I should be bringing to the hospital. Let me know if you have any ideas.

36 weeks #2

36 weeks, 3 days. How am I going to last 3.5 more weeks!!! This weekend I was so uncomfortable. I had inservice all day Friday-7.5 hours sitting in a chair, plus having to drive to st. jay and back, was not good for my body. I woke up Saturday with swollen feet. I am having trouble catching my breath. I am just so uncomfortable. Today after class my feet were so swollen. You could see the straps of my shoes on my feet. My boss even made me call the doctors today because of the swelling. They said to drink lots of water and elevate. When I am in class all morning with preschool children-you tell me how I am suppose to keep my feet up! I have been trying to take my rings off, but can’t. I tried Crisco, soap, soaking my hand in cold water, and Dana even tried to the point that I was in tears. I just don’t want my wedding rings to have to be cut off!

I am finally done washing all the baby clothes. Dana is in the process of sanding and painting a dresser for the baby. So right now the clothes are separated by size and in piles in my room. I can’t wait to put them all away. I still need to buy a few items, but am all set on clothes. After Dana is done with the dresser, he has to work on the cradle. I keep in pretty busy, don’t I?
The sheetrock will be going up this week. We are cutting it close!

Next doctors appointment is on Friday when I will be 37 weeks! Ahhhhhh!!!

36 weeks-9 months

35 weeks

35 weeks, 6 days. Sorry it has been awhile since I posted. I went back to work this week and I have been very tired. Its hard working with preschool kids when you are this pregnant! I went for my ultrasound on Monday. Emma is head down (hooray!). we have a nice profile picture of her. I will try to scan and post soon. We asked the ultrasound person to confirm the sex of the baby, without telling him what we were having. He said it was a girl. So that is 2 times we have been told it’s a girl-so it should be for sure now! We couldn’t get very good pictures because she is too big to be able to move around much. Emma has been kicking like crazy-she is mean to her mommy.

My baby shower was on Saturday. It was fun, I received a lot of nice stuff. The party was short notice, so some people couldn’t make it. Also the weather was very crappy, so some people missed it. But I am glad for all the people who came. Thanks to all!

I had our work Christmas party of Wednesday. Well not only was it a Christmas party, but it also turned into my baby shower. I was totally surprised. I got some cute outfits, a diaper wreath, a homemade ceramic piggy bank, and some receiving blankets (which I didn’t get a single one of at my baby shower)

We finally had Makyla’s Christmas with Dana’s family Saturday night. It was a good time. I came home from my shower, put Makyla down for her nap, made Sheppard’s pie, and then it was time for the party. It was a long day. We finally took out the Christmas tree Sunday morning. What a mess that was! We had to take everything out of the living room and clean the whole thing because needles were everywhere! My living room looks huge without the tree in here.

On Saturday, our electrician came and put in the rest of the lines. Rene came over and fixed all of the studs that bowed or warped. And now we are ready for sheetrock! Yeppee! Now we just have to wait for the guy to come do it.

I can’t believe that tomorrow I will be 36 weeks pregnant. 4 more weeks to go. How insane is that!!
